Admin & Office Specialist III

Position Summary:
The Operations Coordinator is an integral member of the Alan B. Miller Entrepreneurship Center team at the William & Mary Raymond A. Mason School of Business. Working closely with the Executive Director and the Assistant Director, the Operations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the financial flows and non-monetary resources necessary for the delivery of Entrepreneurship Center programs, including those connected to Launchpad Venture Incubator, resulting in consistent, high-quality programming for Miller Center constituents including students, faculty, staff, and regional entrepreneurs.

The Operations Coordinator provides the essential operational administrative support that enables the Center to equip entrepreneurial thinkers to make a positive impact. The position is part of a highly collaborative, student-oriented team environment and includes student staff and graduate assistant supervision.

The position is part-time and responsible for providing operational administrative support across two primary areas with duties including, but not limited to:

    • Finance and Operations Support– Managing the budget and acting as the purchaser for the Center.
    • Student Support– Managing the student hiring process and the completion of related hiring documents for the Miller Center to assist our student workforce, internship programs, and stipend recipients.

Required Qualifications:
    • High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Working knowledge of administrative and office support functions, to include file maintenance and recordkeeping.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and effectively work with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, and meet deadlines, while utilizing strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications:
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in a higher education or public agency office environment.
  • Prior experience working with W&M systems and applications, i.e., America To Go, Banner, Chrome River, Box.
