ITA International will help defense agencies operationalize data

Newport News-based professional services and data analysis company ITA International LLC won a $100 million contract from the U.S. General Services Administration to help defense agencies use data-driven tools, it announced Thursday.

Under the five-year Small Business Innovation Research phase III indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, ITA will provide customized data visualization and analysis and will use a suite of data analytics tools to help defense agencies operationalize data.

“Our team of ITAers has a great deal of experience helping the U.S. Air Force operationalize data,” ITA International CEO Mike Melo said in a statement. “We’re ecstatic the data-enabled services we provide them has become a model of excellence for all of government.”

From ITA’s press release: ITA will deliver customized data visualization and analysis by leveraging domain expertise, robust methodology and technology within the ITA Data Analytics Center (ITADAC) along with subject matter expertise from the ITA Global Security (ITAGS) team. ITADAC and ITAGS will employ an integrated suite of data analytics tools called “The Arena” to operationalize data, which will enable Airmen, DoD and federal government end-users to successfully manage situations and make informed decisions. Derived from SBIR Program research, the Arena process starts with asking the right questions with the intent of fully understanding customers’ needs and objectives to develop integrated and sophisticated solutions for complex challenges.

Founded in 2005, ITA International has more than 325 employees in more than 20 locations worldwide and provides services in operational support, marine engineering, cyber operations and data analytics.
