An accelerator is typically a cohort-based program that is comprised of an intense, 12-16 week program that helps prepare your business for investment. Depending on the accelerator, each business may receive capital prior to the start of the program. Some will take a small equity stake in your company, others will not. The cohort usually ends with a demo day event where each founder pitches their business to a crowd of potential investors in an attempt to raise capital for their startup.
Lighthouse Labs is a Richmond, Virginia based accelerator that has put more than $1,000,000 to work in 136 founders of 72 different businesses. Lighthouse Labs accepts companies in any industry and can be located in any state.
On June 3rd, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, the spring cohort will have their demo day. You can register to attend here. You can also meet the cohort here.
Just as 757 Accelerate announced applications were being accepted for their fall cohort, Lighthouse Labs is also accepting applications for their fall cohort. If accepted into the cohort, Lighthouse Labs offers $20,000 in equity-free funding. Lighhouse’s accelerator is made up of a 13-week program, you can take a closer look into their program here.
