On April 20th, Techstars released the survey results from a report based on data collected from interviews, surveys, and discussions with more than 75 local technology entrepreneurs and decision-makers in the Hampton Roads community. Several dozen leaders from local government and other organizations also provided input. The project was developed through the support and assistance of GO Virginia, 757 Accelerate, and 757 Angels.

In the report, Techstars identified the region’s strengths across the entrepreneurial community. The number one strength identified was the region’s “quality of life”, followed by the region’s “positive momentum” and “quality of talent”.

The report also identified six gaps in the entrepreneurial community. The gaps included “the inclusion gap”, “the storytelling gap” and “the later-stage funding gap.
